New Year's Day - Thursday, January 1, 2026

• Administrative Offices are closed; Tinker and Salem Transfer Stations and the Smith Gap Landfill are closed.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day - Monday, January 19, 2026

• Administrative Offices are closed; Tinker and Salem Transfer Stations and the Smith Gap Landfill are closed.

Presidents' Day - Monday, February 16, 2026

• Administrative Offices are closed; Smith Gap Landfill is closed. Tinker Transfer Station is closed. Salem Transfer Station will be open 7:30am-1pm.

Memorial Day - Monday, May 25, 2026

• Administrative Offices are closed; Tinker and Salem Transfer Stations and the Smith Gap Landfill are closed.

Juneteenth Freedom Day - Friday, June 19, 2026 

• Administrative Offices are closed; Tinker and Salem Transfer Stations and the Smith Gap Landfill are closed.

PUBLIC NOTICE OF SCHEDULE FOR REGULAR MONTHLY MEETINGS OF 

THE ROANOKE VALLEY RESOURCE AUTHORITY FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2026

Notice is hereby given that the regular meetings of the Roanoke Valley Resource Authority will be held at the Roanoke Valley Resource Authority’s Tinker Creek Transfer Station, 1020 Hollins Road, NE, Roanoke, Virginia, and are as follows: 

• February 25, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. (Organization Meeting)
•  April 1, 2026 at 12:00 p.m.
•  June 24, 2026 at 12:00 p.m.
•  August 26, 2026 at 12:00 p.m.
•  October 28, 2026 at 12:00 p.m.
•  December 2, 2026 at 11:30 a.m.

Notice is further given that other emergency or special called meetings of the Authority may be scheduled in accordance with applicable law.
